Dr. 罗克珊娜Vatanparast is an 助理教授 of 法律 at 威尼斯人平台法学院. Her scholarship examines the intersections of law, technology, and global governance. She brings an interdisciplinary lens to exploring the legal and governance implications of digital technologies and how they in turn reshape law and governance, with a particular interest in issues of democracy, 不平等, 和专业知识.

Before joining 威尼斯人平台法学院, Professor Vatanparast was a Fellow with the Transatlantic 技术 法律 Forum at Stanford 法学院, a 威尼斯人官网ing Fellow with the Program on Science, 技术 and Society at the Harvard Kennedy School, and a 威尼斯人官网ing Researcher at the Institute for Global 法律 & 哈佛法学院的政策教授. She currently serves as a Convenor of the European Society of 国际法’s Working Group on 国际法 and 技术. In addition, Professor Vatanparast teaches a course on “Global Digital 法律 & Politics” at Harvard Summer School.

Professor Vatanparast’s scholarship has appeared or is forthcoming in journals including Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies, Heidelberg Journal of 国际法, Brooklyn Journal of 国际法, Harvard 国际法 Journal Online, and Juridikum – Austria’s Critical 法律 Review. She speaks regularly at international conferences about current issues around law and digital technology.

Professor Vatanparast is the author of the forthcoming book Cable Empires: Infrastructures and the Making of Empire, 技术 and 国际法, under contract with Cambridge University Press.

Professor Vatanparast holds a PhD in 法律 & Institutions from the 都灵大学, a LLM from the International University College of Turin, a JD from UC 法律 SF (formerly UC Hastings), 以及加州大学圣地亚哥分校的文学学士学位. Prior to teaching, she practiced law for several years in private practice.
